Dakota Flashe and Glen Wilson live in a small town on a mountain in Colorado. After her parents divorced, Dakota was desperate to make friends. In her obscure little village, she gains information that could help her find her mom. The adventure must be kept from her father, and no matter what obstacles she comes across, it is vital that her and her friend stay together.  Despite following the old woman's instructions, Dakota and Glen wonder if they are going to Vegas or if they are just climbing a mountain.

This book was written by a thirteen-year-old who has exams. I don't know how far I will get with these chapters everyday, so I don't have a schedule. For now, I am going to try to post  a new chapter every day or every other day. If I miss a day, be patient. I have a big family and we spend a lot of time together. Thank you so much for reading this book and this description. If it is past 11 PM, please go to sleep and rest. You'll need it to be happy and healthy :)

I have restarted this book. I wanted to make it easier to read and more enjoyable. I hope to make shorter chapters and update frequently. :) In the beginning Sylar has no name. No one cares. She's just another kid to fall into a system because she was an unwanted mess. A child that doesn't talk? Yea, no one care about that either. A shady group home filled with bullies and secrets? Yea, you guessed NO ONE CARES! To find friends in a place like this is unlikely. This place is built to feed off the fears of kids and their lack of parental role models. No one holds on to dreams for long in a place like this. You get placed here and you are as good as forgotten. Except when a couple shows up looking as out of place as an astronaut in a gold mine or a miner in space whichever one you prefer. This couple comes and shakes things up. Good or Bad has yet to be decided...only someone's bound to get hurt, someone's bound to be broken. The only question is will the wounds heal or fester and kill?

So what happens when Casper finds out the girl has secret? Maybe...just maybe he'll realize there's more to her than a rude, crude exterior.
