The China Study: Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long-Term Health

Rita becomes strict with her eating, everyday the number of calories she eats gets lower and the amount of time she does cardio gets higher. She practices of managing her starvation by distracting it and never catches a break on the scale. Nobody is aware of it, it was something Rita doesn't want her friends or family to know, hiding her body from them didn't last long. Her mother noticed the dramatic weight change on her body. She tries to help her get back to her eating and tells her many times that she's "perfectly skinny" but nothing works. Her mother puts her foot down as Rita started to get ill, her mom takes her to a mental health hospital. She deals with consequences from her nurses and other patients.

Real talk: Sometimes we eat instead of facing our problems. Patrice, is what you call the "BIG BOSS", not in the sense that she's the boss of any gang of some sort or some bad ass girl with a to die for body and kick ass persona. "BIG BOSS" is what some of the bullies call her. Yes, you figured that one out, she's fat. Nothing is special about her besides the fact that she can cook really well. Like most teens, she deals with a lot of stress: money, love, school, parents, drama, fitting in the society and of course her JEANS. She's contented with her life with her best friend, Julie, who is a complete opposite of her. She's thin. Everything was just right. It was so right that she left her mom and ran away. And ends up in the humongous forest at the back of their house. (Yes, that's what she calls running away, that's the farthest she can run.)She's in big trouble. Hi! I'm currently seventeen years old and not very good in English so don't mind my horrible grammer mistakes >< . Anyways! I am trying to get in shape, currently I weigh at ~50kgs and my goal is to reach 44~45kgs. I have to lose about 6KG? Oh yes and I'm 160cm tall. Harmony in the psyche becomes the engine for future changes in the eating behavior of people with eating disorders and obesity. At the end of the book, we learned that people with unhealthy weights have a distorted body image that controls them. How can we develop an authentic body image that matches the uniqueness of our body? How to discover the beauty of your body? How can an aesthetic perception of your body lead to a healthy weight?
