Mara Jade Benson has been introduced to the world of mythical creatures, portals to other worlds, and her own demonic powers. After losing her mentor, she must fight through the pain and suffering to defeat her former friend, who killed Mara's mother. If she survives this underdog mission, what new trials and choices will Mara have to face? (I suck at summaries, please read anyway!) ... About a girl, Mara, who discovers she is half-demon and has to follow her mentor, Kamahi, through the different categories of learning to control her power. In her first world (Earth), she has a boyfriend named Graham who has been there for her through everything, although he is fully human and has trouble understanding most of the supernatural. Most of the story is from Mara's point of view. There are a few flashbacks in which her past and the past of other characters are explained. It's set wherever the narrator may be, which could be in any of the constantly multiplying worlds. Other than Earth, all the worlds are not acutally physical planets, but a complex psychological state that only people with a part mythological ancestry can enter or create.
Mara Vale has always believed that there's more to life than just surviving-and now she's about to prove it. After creating the groundbreaking Toro Gate, a device that opens portals across dimensions, she stumbles upon a shocking discovery: a way to achieve immortality by resonating in a zero-energy field. But there's a catch-this process strips away everything that makes you you and leaves you in a void of nothingness.
As Mara races against time to solve the paradox of immortality, she must confront the consequences of her choices. Can she overcome the personal cost of eternal life, or will the temptation of limitless power spiral into a chaotic struggle for humanity itself? The deeper she digs, the more she realizes that immortality isn't just a gift-it's a curse that could unravel the very fabric of existence.
In a world where nothing is what it seems, can Mara find a way to preserve both life and soul? Or will her journey become the key to her undoing?
