Katsumi of the Land of Fire was the daughter of the chief. Born to a small village of half-cat, half-human beings, they were often called despicable names because of their appearance. The women of their village were known for their impeccable beauty that made ordinary women spiteful and attracted the attention of one perverted sage. *hint* *hint*
Mostly due to them having the ears and tails of various feline cats, the only uncommon color was a pure red color. Katsumi has this color, and makes her shine out from her people. During the Third War, the nekos secretly aided Konoha. Realizing this, the Land of Grass banished the Nekos from their ancestral home, threatening each one with death if they ever came back. They were allowed land to the north of Konoha to live, and that is where Katsumi was born, the same day as Naruto.
