Harlow and I had just settled in to our new temporary home when a growl interrupted the quiet peace that filled the meadow. A small group of wolves stepped out from the shadows of the trees. I knew that I could take them, but not with Harlow with me. I quickly shifted and let out a growl of my own, settling for intimidation. I knew that my wolf was larger than most and some snapping of the jaws usually did the trick. I stood firm over Harlow and snarled as a group of wolves entered the clearing.
One of them shifted into their human form and demanded "Shift!" Refusing to let him have a higher hand over me if I were in my human form, I let out another snarl and bared my teeth against him. I sunk lower into my crouch over Harlow so that the fur on my stomach barely brushed his back.
"Ah, I see. We have a mama wolf on our hands" the unknown man laughed. He took a step forward and said "We wouldn't want anything bad to happen to your pup now would we? That would be such a shame." I could see the humor dancing in his eyes as he stepped closer to Harlow and I. I puffed out my chest and bared my teeth as he got too close for comfort.
Suddenly the man lunged for my neck. He must have thought I was a fool. I could have seen that coming from a mile away. Idiot. I quickly tore out at him and grabbed a hold of his arm and shook as hard as I could.
We were in a bloody fight when a loud growl tore through the meadow. A wolf larger than any I had ever seen before entered the clearing. His black eyes narrowed onto me, and I knew he was mad. His body was quivering in anger. Oops. He shifted into his very naked human form. His nostrils flared and his eyes fluttered for a second. "Mate" he murmured. Welp, poor girl that has to get stuck with his stupid ass. With that he made a dive towards me with the guys arm still in my mouth.

He meets my eyes, then his eyes turn from annoyance, to lust. They seem to hold a fire so intense I almost forget to breathe. He's hot. Like, really hot. The White Fox
The white fox will destroy the werewolf world. It's a legend that every wolf knows. We never hunt white foxes for fear it will be the one in the legend. If a white fox burrows in your territory, it's a sign of bad luck. We all run from white foxes. We were told as pups that if we were bad, the white fox would come to our pack, and the next day, our pack would have never existed. There are laws from the elders that if we find the white fox (not that anyone wants to or will), we were to hand it over immediately. I down it and coughed again. It was so bitter and I recoiled. My head spun and I felt like I was going to throw up. I held my head and closed my eyes. The world spun so much faster when I closed my eyes. He held me under my chin. "Listen. You pissed off a powerful man while you were gone. He wants you and I'm not giving you without a price. So next week, after the paperwork is filled out, you're gonna be good. Or I'll lower that price. Do you understand?" I nodded my head as best I could but it made me even dizzier. He let go of my chin and I felt myself falling. "Now you haven't drank that much. Don't tell me you're out for the count. I haven't even gotten started with you." he grabbed a bottle of beer and handed it to me. I almost dropped it but managed to grab the bottle by the neck right before it left my hand. "Drink." He was muscular, and from the shirt he put, you could see his 6 pack and toned abs. His face was a beauty. I could stare at him and never get bored. "What the hell?" I thought. Why was I drooling over a guy like that? I was so busy thinking about the sexy stranger that I didn't notice, he was so closer to me. I look at him and suddenly out of the blue, he put his right hand on my cheek. Like he was admiring me, making sure I was no illusion. At that very moment, I felt sparks from the contact of our skin in my body and everything became a blur to me. Only one word could be form in my mouth. The famous word "mate". Verge of Insanity
My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.Complete

Forest eyes
I locked eyes with it. Its amber gaze pierced through me, like it could smell my fear. There was something ancient in that gaze, something that stirred an unsettling feeling deep in my gut, a sensation I couldn't quite shake. Its claws scraped against the earth, long and curved, leaving deep marks in the fresh dirt as it moved closer. I could hear its paws thud against the ground, massive and deliberate, each step sending another shock of terror through me. The silence that followed was unnerving, heavy in the air, but then a loud crack shattered the stillness. It came from the forest-close, too close. The beast whipped its head back to the forest, quickly turning his whole body around so I was behind him. The shock from him turning so fast made me stumble a few feet backwards. The ground beneath us seemed to shift as it suddenly lunged forward, its muscles rippling with terrifying power. With one mighty leap, it vaulted over the rotting wooden fence, clearing the barrier effortlessly. The impact of its landing shook the earth beneath my feet. I staggered again, trying to keep my balance as I watched the creature, now free, pause on the other side of the fence. It cocked its head backwards meeting my gaze one final time. Then, without another notice, it darted into the forest, disappearing into the darkness like a shadow swallowed by night. I stood there, my body still trembling, staring at the empty space where the creature had been. The night had swallowed it whole. And though the sounds of the forest returned, soft and distant, the terror of that moment lingered. Was it still out there? Watching? Waiting? My eyes darted back and forth in the forest, trying to see it still hung around. I didn't know, but I couldn't shake the feeling that this encounter, this creature, was only the beginning.
