Gettysburg was a violent, dangerous, and bloody battle with many losses. Some had the chance to tell their stories. But others would never. In this short story, I tried to create a realistic story of a Confederate soldier from the American Civil War.
Caution: Graphic Violence and Adult Language (Racial Slurs) Used.

The Forgotten Ones (A Completed Steamy, Historical Romance)
We know a lot about the American Civil War. We know about the battle at Gettysburg and how Sherman burned Atlanta but do you know many individual stories? Follow Oliver and Naomi from their arranged marriage through the war. It will be quite a journey as Naomi faces the war home alone and Oliver fights battle after battle. She will face one of the cruelest band of the southern militia army as she tries to protect the people she loves most. This is a story about the ones left home during the war. The one's who earned no great merit or place in history. The forgotten heroes of a bloody war that stood for freedom and equality for all Americans. I based some of facts in the story on writings left behind by my family that lived here in Indiana in the 1860s. My ancestors were Quaker and they were abolitionists in Indiana. We still have their homes used in the underground railroad in our family. My other side was endangered servants from Ireland and my great-great-grandfather was, unfortunately, one of the soldiers that came to Indiana while serving under John Hunt Morgan. A Three-Way War
Set in the era of the Civil War, Ann has always struggled with her position in life. Seen as a useless girl to her family, Ann tries to see better of herself but feels herself falling to her family's views. She feels like she can't do anything, especially when her older brother, Martin, is conscripted to the war effort, where Ann is sure he will die. In a whirlwind decision, she decides to disguise herself as a male soldier, impersonating Martin and going off to war. Florence is an African-American girl with a fire in her heart. She's gutsy, with enough bravado to put the mightiest warriors to shame. A long-time friend of Ann's, Florence knows how it feels to be looked down on. But she can feel her warrior's heart inside her, urging her to fight in the Civil War, to fight for the freedom of her people. Unleashed anger and frustration burn in her bloodstream, begging to be set free. But how can she fight, when she's just a girl? Hugh is a seemingly selfish, self-conceded Southern boy who has been conscripted to fight the North. As the war rages on, he struggles to choose a side, indecision tearing at him. He knows that while one choice might be morally right, he knows that choosing that side could rip him from the beliefs his family has instilled in him since the day he was born. In a brutal twist of fate, all three of their lives collide, when Hugh, Florence, and Ann meet each other on the bloody battlefield of Gettysburg. But will they put aside their prejudices for survival? Or will they let themselves be torn apart by the worries and doubt that cloud all their minds?Complete

Grace is a southern woman who has had to face the injustice that her parents find to be acceptable. To them slavery and subjugation are the right of the southern plantation owners. When Grace is abused, watches her brother get murdered and her best friend, a slave, get beaten for nothing, Grace decides its time to make a stand.
