Calvin is the Beta of his pack. All he grow up knowing was stories of legends of his pack and stories told by his ancestors about mates. Mates are like shorter word for soulmate. He wasn't fond of the word or the meaning but at the end of the day, his mystery mate was always the one for him. At the topic of mates, he shove it away. When other's saw love, he was vulnerable. Mates to him is weak.

But on top of all that, he finds out the secrets he never knew that blew around him every single day of his life. The kinds of secrets that make your stomach drop and your heartbeat quicken.
