Everybody knows about the events surrounding the explosion of the Particle Accelerator, how it infected many citizens, changing them into Meta Humans. Some use their powers to help others, some to help themselves while committing crime and hurting others, while still many others remain hidden away in fear. What most don't realise is that not only were humans infected, but animals as well. Like humans, many have changed in appearance. Also like humans, many beasts have remained hidden away in fear, only to emerge later on. This is the story of one Meta Human in particular, watching how he struggles with everyday life, juggling the many aspects of himself between his duties as Flash, a CSI, adopted son and brother, boyfriend, and just plain ordinary Barry Allen. We see his triumphs, defeats, happiness, sadness, as he encounter both Meta Humans and Meta Beasts alike, along with old foes, new allies, and regain lost friendships. --------------- This is a mixture of Arrowverse and Comics and soley created from my own braincell. I put my own spin on chars and mostly leave it up to the reader as to which version they view the characters. There are 3 characters that I do have a specific version in mind, and will be notated when they appear. There are also some characters I created myself. I know there are grammar and punctuation issues and I really don't mind. I started writing this story in July 2018 and can see my improvement in later chapters. I may edit at some point but is not a priority right now. I am using this story as writing practice, just to see what my braincell can come up with. Originally, this started as a stand-alone single chapter and has quickly evolved into many chapters with a lot more to come. Lots of Content Warnings as there are strong themes of abuse, implied attempted suicide, sexual both consent and rape. I will notate at the top of each chapter. This is the original, unedited version of Light as a Feather, Book #1. This book was the inspiration for the Hulu Original Series. The revised version is now available in bookstores throughout the USA & Canada from Simon Pulse. McKenna Brady thinks her junior year of high school is going to be the best ever when she's welcomed into the elite group of popular girls at Weeping Willow High School led by blonde, gorgeous Olivia Richmond. Prior to junior year, McKenna was known in her small town as the girl whose twin sister died in a tragic house fire, and she's overjoyed at the prospect of redefining her identity. She has a date to the Homecoming dance with Olivia's handsome older brother, and a good chance of being elected to student council. For the first time since McKenna's parents divorced, things are looking up. But everything changes the night of Olivia's Sweet Sixteen sleepover birthday party. Violet, the shy, mysterious new girl in town, suggests that the girls play a scary game called Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board, during which Violet makes up elaborate stories about the future ways in which beautiful Olivia, brassy Candace, and athletic Mischa will die. The game unsettles McKenna because she's already escaped death once in her life, but she doesn't want to ruin her friends' fun. It's only a game, she reminds herself.
