Matilda has gone though a lot, more then most girls her age. Matilda only just turned eighteen, and has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Putting up with her mental illness and everything that comes with it is hard, but fitting into the world is much harder. It's like life is purposely hard. With the voices only she can hear and the shadow only she can see, how long can she possibly put up with herself before the small box she hides in breaks? Will she let people in so that they can help her? "You can't escape something that will always be there. You can't escape the voices."
