He is given a mission, and that mission is to kill Dumbledore and fix the vanishing closet. He doesn't want to do this, he doesn't want to kill anyone. he just doesn't have a choice. What makes this whole situation worse is Harry Potter. Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy have to live with each other as a punishment, making it harder for Draco to carry out his mission. Draco can't risk Harry finding out what he has to do, If Harry finds out, Draco's family and himself will have to pay the price.
