"And I was going to apologise! You make me feel horrible and then slap me in the face. My only friend, betrays me. Is that what you were going to say? I trusted you, how could you? You said all that didn't you? Didn't you?" She screamed, heartbreak splattered on her face. "Any other surprises?"
"Lett, listen I have no idea what's going on. They haven't come out in decades. I don't-" Mink's face was filled with pain. He was trying to explain something, something Lett couldn't understand. Lett stared at him then turned away.
"So these are the Angels." she said looking out to the troop ahead of her. Mink looked calmer, her voice was softer. "And you're one of them." She snarled. His face morphed to a frightened one.
"Yes."
"You're a devil!" He said loudly. Lett stumbled back, fumbling for her pocket knife ready to attack. "How could you not tell me?" He asked, a betrayed tone thick on this tongue. Lett looked down at her knife and put it away.
"I wanted to but-"
"Instead you lead me to believe that you were what? Normal?" His tone cut at her heart.
"No I swear I-"
"What Lett? Huh? What can you possibly say to this?" His voice was rising with anger.
An apology and explanation was on her lips before she heard a bang behind her.
"Get her! I want her alive. Now, now, now." A woman stepped out of the trees, her dark purple hair glinting in the sun. About ten soldiers came barreling out, they stood in an attack position, weapons in hand. Lett surveyed the scene, and looked to Mink for help to see a shocked look on his face. The anger completely melted away.
"Raven? What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Wait, you know her?" Lett asked in an accusatory tone.
"Uhh, well yes." Lett was livid.
