Rose is just beginning to cope with Dimitri leaving to go with Tasha Ozera to become her guardian. But, in a random act of love, Dimitri spends the night with Rose; knowing that he would have to leave as soon as they had spent the night together. After leaving unannounced, Dimitri finds himself regretting his choice to leave Rose; and even though Tasha doesn't want the two to be together, she takes off of work when the two receive a letter from Rose that held a small plastic tube, and a picture. (Lissa is Queen, bond never broke, and Rose is her Guardian.) (My version of the story.
