"Mommy, why must we stay?" The little girl asked her mother, "we can go to the hotel Lillian went to for her birthday."
"Aphy, because I love him." The mother said removing the broken piece of glass from the wound in her cheek.
"Mommy, what's love?"
"Baby, I hope you never find out, it's something that hurts so much but you can never escape."
"Mommy, what does escape mean."
"Never mind child, don't tell anyone what he did. Do you understand Aphrodite?"
"Yes, Mommy."
"Aphrodite, What are you supposed to do?"
"I'm supposed to be quiet, mommy." The little girl responded bringing her finger up to her lips as her mother did the same.
"Shhhh"

Aphrodite is a girl with a troubled family and troubled mind and from childhood, Aphrodite has learned to accept that she is to love no one.
But to provide for her soon to come baby brother and mother Aphrodite must be apart of illegal business.
Aphrodite has three things to do. Stay Hidden, Stay Quiet, and Do Not Love.

Due to an unfortunate event in his life he doesn't have his voice to help him, so he has to rely on what he can accomplish with his physical and mental skills. She blames herself for what happened, thinking if she just went with her dad, maybe they would of both made it out and still be alive.
