For decades, Ars Volen and its prestigious sister schools have served as neutral grounds between the Bloodliners (Vampires) and the Wolvren.

Within its halls and many rooms, unsuspecting human students share classes with the children of various Bloodliner and Wolvren Clans, many of whom are members of noble families with lineages dating back to antiquity.

Maintaining the peace falls upon the Artemis and their Furies - the lethal hunters with the appearance of beautiful young women who have no natural predators, and possess unrivaled combat prowess.

It is because of this peace that two prominent families have enrolled their children at the school.

Alexiane Marcel Kerentsky, a Wolvren and youngest daughter of the Marcel Family, the Alpha rulers of the prominent Kerentsky Clan.

However, the peace within the school's formidable walls may be upended with the arrival of a new transfer student: Nikola Sola Brandei, an orphan and an Artemis in the service of Pantheon, the organization that gifted her with her Fury, Anthea.

Forcefully transferred with little warning to Ars Volen Academy on the whim of Pantheon's self-proclaimed goddess, Aphrodite, Nikola finds herself attending high school with humans, Vampires, and Wolvren - two species she has spent the past two years hunting down across the country. However, getting along with her prey may prove to be the least of her problems. That's because her Fury's reputation precedes her and it's not a good one.

More than two years ago, Nikola turned Anthea's blades on her fellow Furies, ending the careers of seven promising Artemis. Since then she's been known as Anthea of the Slaughter, rather than Anthea of the Night, and it seems that her bloody past as a Fury killer is coming back to haunt her.
