A boy named Hajime Hinata and a girl name Chiaki Nanami. Hajime was a poor little boy who lost his parents and ended up homeless. Days and hours past by as nobody even notices him living on the streets until a family upon to Hajime. They kept him in a warm place, fed him, and even dressed him in some small boys clothes from stores. He meets their daughter and they both immediately become friends. As they grow up with each other home schooled together, and play with each other. Sometimes life can be difficult but you must face it.

Although he's with kids from school and would most likely get along with them...he feels a strange awkwardness when around them. There's a catch though, Hajime isn't really like the others; he doesn't have an ultimate. Because of that, he thinks the others might look down on him. But there is one student that looks down on him the most, Nagito Komaeda: the ultimate lucky student. He believes since Hajime doesn't have a talent, he's not valid like everyone else and decides to put him down for something he can't control.
