Everyone on Earth is now born with fate tattoos showing people who their soulmate is and how they will die. A girl, Delilah Turner, has been born with just two names on her body denoting her soulmate and her killer. The killer tattoo is not normal. Usually the tattoo shows the method of how you will die in this life. So where other people at least know what to expect, she is left totally in the dark. She has a nonexistent father and a strained relationship with her mother. Her brother is a jerk, and she just feels like she doesn't belong. After a tragedy strikes, she goes to live with her aunt and uncle where she meets her new, unexpected best friend June and the possible soulmate/killer duo in a set of twins that attend her new school. The four people form a strange bond and go on a quest together for answers.
