The wide hallway, with its tall ceilings and open space, felt so much smaller than before. Suddenly, there wasn't enough oxygen and Kara found herself running to the nearest balcony. Bursting through the large double doors, she found herself on the balcony overlooking the Luthor gardens where she and Lena spent a lot of time together. Turning her back to the view, she slid down the railing, landing gracelessly on the floor. Curling herself into the smallest ball she could, she wrapped her arms around her knees and cried. Cried for her best friend who she promised to protect. Cried for the girl who went through something so awful, all alone. With nobody there to save her. Kara cried for the girl she loved more than anyone else on the planet. She cried for the girl that had been in the woods for who knows how long, all by herself.

Even on Krypton, she was misunderstood. When she was younger and her mother asked about boys or boyfriends, Kara would always reply, "No, Mommy! I wanna have a girlfriend." Which was unheard of. Kara's feelings towards girls were punishable by death, much like some countries on Earth. So. when she was old enough to understand the risk of loving who she wanted, she suppressed her feelings and convinced herself that she loved boys. On Earth, years later, she meets someone who makes it impossible to ignore her feelings, but she has never made her feel as amazing as Lena Luthor. Lena Luthor was raised in a home where you could be beaten for simply looking at someone. She didn't bother with love or figuring out her feelings about all of her friends. It just wasn't important. When she moved away and her brother was put in jail, she assumed that she was attracted to men. She didn't know otherwise. But when she met Kara Danvers, every thought she ever had about being straight was proven wrong. This was what love felt like. Facing danger at every turn of their relationship, Lena and Kara are determined to beat the odds. Kara paced the bathroom floor. Something had made her choose to do this, but she didn't know what. She continued to pace for three minutes until the timer went off. Once it did she raced into the kitchen and grabbed the test on her sink. She turned it over and saw the words PREGNANT, sprawled on the screen. "I-i can't be!" Kara said to herself. Seconds later her door flew open, causing her to hid the test and turn. "Oh it's just you, Lena you scared me" Kara said. She had tears in her eyes but refused to let them fall. - After a drunk slip up with Lena, Kara ends up pregnant with her child. Before Kara has a chance to tell her, Lena ends their friendship after finding out the truth of Kara's identity. Kara leaves National City without telling a soul about the baby or about Lena . When Lena finds out she makes Kara move in with her for the remaining months of her pregnancy. Taking it the way she did protected her from making that decision on her own. But sitting here in the Fortress working on the projector, it was hard for her not to lose hope. Usually, Lena was able to keep her feelings in check or at least control herself despite her emotions. But as she sat in the spot where she'd lost Kara - scotch in one hand and the projector in the other - lost control of herself and tossed the projector down before kicking it across the room, sending her to the phantom zone.
