What happens to one affects the other, whether they are aware of it or not, and they are bound irrevocably so. But the thing about Magic is that anything can happen with it-a mixture of blood magic, soul magic, and death magic is a recipe for all sorts of things. The thought of a pregnancy, though, never occurred in anybody's mind until it happened.
