A retelling of the Cinderella fairytale. Ornella is an orphan. She is treated like a servant by her step-mother and cruelly teased by her step-sisters. However, she is optimistic by nature and lets little get her down, including being forced to attend the Prince's ball.
Prince Waylon loudly declared to his parents in - to emphasize his point - public that he will not marry a woman he does not love and that he will marry the woman he loves, whether she be peasant or lady! Not believing in true love, Waylon believes that this is the perfect way to dissuade everyone’s badgering on him to find a bride. Instead, his parents plan a ball - his worst nightmare – inviting every single eligible woman in the kingdom. The ball will last until he finds his future bride.
As a forceful fairy godmother, two meddling royal parents, an evil step-mother with deadly intentions, two annoying step-sisters reluctantly on the road to love, and a stubborn prince who just won’t accept the answer ‘no’, all join together, Ornella wishes that she never went to that dratted ball!
