Twenty-five years after a nuclear war breaks out, humanity faces severe consequences. Dangerous greenhouse gases trapped in the Earth's atmosphere diminish as the Earth replenishes itself to sustain life by producing a new ice age. This never ending "atomic winter" expands as the albedo of ice grows powerful. The story revolves around John Zathum, a survivor and one of many to be assigned the task of finding an impossible safe haven.
