A normal teenage life really didn't fit Kate's bill anymore. Instead of worrying about a prom date and her upcoming chemistry lab, her focus was almost entirely taken up by trying not to get killed while preventing a murder. A victim of a freak accident, Kate Winsley became the lesser known "Periodic," a sort of noteworthy hero in the city of Greenstone. Okay, maybe a hero in progress, but with the help of her partner, Everlast, Kate was going to make a name for herself. Maybe after she finished English, though.

Alex Rubium is a normal teenager who goes to college. He is dealing with the stress of work, all cramped up, not to mention how much he and his best friend struggle to fit in with others. To add salt into the wound, recently, strange things have been happening to him. After an encounter with an escaped wolf/falcon hybrid named Wolfalco, he notices that he might have a superpower. Actually, he does. He can repel or attract things with his hands, solid OR liquid.
