Wonder Matler spent the entirety of his life surviving. Survival meant learning how to use his leg again and fitting in even though he had a crippled leg. Survival meant keeping shitty friends and letting them make shitty decisions for him. Survival to Wonder meant taking all the means necessary to numb the bad feelings but consequently forgetting the good ones along the way also.
But when Wonder met Luis Gallegos one erroneous night, he remembered how it felt to live. So Wonder did what he always does-- disregard the rules and fuck everything up. But maybe fucking everything up was the only way for Wonder to realize that his survival tactics were slowly killing him.
