Now that he has been there for years, will he be able to handle pieces of his childhood coming back to haunt him?

Virgil groggily blinked his eyes open, taking in the darkness that surrounded him. He was hunched over on his knees, the hard floor beneath him stealing the warmth from his body.
From a ways away, Virgil heard a set of footsteps approaching. Within seconds, a pair of shiny black shoes entered his line of sight. Craning his neck, Virgil looked up at the face of the person standing in front of him.
"I hope all this time away hasn't caused you to forget me."

When Virgil lifted his head from his hands, he locked eyes with Princey. He looked shocked and afraid and a million other emotions that swirled together in a jumble of curiosity and confusion. Virgil calmed the panic in his brain quickly enough to stand. "I-I'm just going to-to go..." he whispered, suddenly more interested in his feet than Roman's face. He made his way to the door a few feet away, ignoring the sound of movement behind him. "Virgil, wait!" Roman grabbed onto his wrists, stopping him. Instantly, the anxiety bubbled up inside of him and Virgil's hand began to shake. "Please let me go..." He mumbled, the sound barely audible, even in the uncomfortable silence that hung in the room like smog. "Virge-" "Please..." A single tear dropped from one of his eyes as he squeezed them both shut as tight as he could. Slowly, Roman's grip loosened and Virgil reached for the doorknob, slipping out of the room and into the safety of his own. ATTENTION: This book is undergoing editing.
