When I was little. I was told that favoritism was a myth. I was told that everybody was friends. But the worst lie I was told was that we are all extraordinary in our own way. The sad part about this, is I believed those silly lies adults told me. All my life I've been afraid of living in the shadows yet all my life I've lived in one. I am the teenager that is not skinny, but I'm not fat. I'm the person who has talent but not enough to take you all the way. Everybody knows about the tortured kids and the popular kids with some kind of niche, but you all forgot about someone. What about the kid who has a couple friends? Who doesn't know what they want or hasn't been bullied enough to be effected. We are a shadow. Mimicking others in fear of stepping out to be ourselves. The worst word we can be called, ordinary. So I guess you can say I am about to tell you the story of a perfectly ordinary girl who meets an extremely extraordinary boy that changes her and all the people around her.

My life was supposed to be normal. You're born, raised by good parents, go to school, make friends, graduate, get a job. You create fun memories, find the love of your life, get married, start a family, grow old, and eventually, you breathe your last. That's what life was supposed to be like for me. But instead, my life turned out to be the opposite of normal. And so it was for Chiara, Blake, Jake, Rowan, Nova, and Dijon. To tell our story, we need to go all the way back to the beginning. Before we were even born. It all started 30 years ago. Every year another person got powers, and so, the search continued. But there was always one question on mr. Knight mind: Why 12 children the first time, and only one per year after that? And one thing was for sure: whenever someone gained powers, they had to give something up in return. It was never a choice. It was just the way it was. So, now that I've explained a bit about how this all started, let's fast forward to the present. It's now 2033. Mr. Knight has found 19 children, and Mr. Douglas, the leader of the other group, has found 10. That means... the 30th child is out there somewhere. Who will it be? And one more thing before I go-welcome to the world of Dark Light.
