The air was colder this time. It was almost stale. Missing of warmth and heat. As if it couldn't hold the suns rays of heat for long. Missing of sweetness. Missing of happiness and joy. Missing of her. 

It shouldn't be a surprise to me at all that she isn't here. She wasn't just going to fall from the skies and into my lap. It was going to take time to find her. But I knew she was around. She didn't stay gone for long. Although she was missing there were still traces of her everywhere. 

Her scent was in the cinnamon buns from the bakery I just passed. Her laugh came bellowing out of the car that drove by. Her voice was on the other end of a phone with a guy sitting on a bus bench. She was here. She just isn't mine yet. The big man upstairs had a funny way of making sure I knew she was close.
