Old, but still hip Mrs. Galliger's pride and joy is her flower box on her windowsill. In it, she had flowers that 15 year-old best friends Catherine and Ron always admire. Not even the most knowledgable florist in America knows the kinds of flowers she has in there. Her flower box lights up the dank, dark streets of New York City, and they seem to have quite an effect on people. Catherine and Ron visit Mrs. Galliger frequently (not only can she garden, but she can bake circles around any critically acclaimed baker). As cooky as she is, Mrs. Galliger has always been kind, and supportive, both qualities that Cat and Ron's families seem to lack. Cat and Ron invest their secrets and time in Mrs. Galliger, and they all become each other's family. All is well. That is until a mysterious chemist, Mr. Hofbrinkle, (who also happens to be Mrs. Galliger's brother) shows up at their doors with some strange news. Mrs. Galliger is dead. Cat and Ron don't believe it. They go back to her apartment to admire her heirlooms and artifacts one last time. It was then that they noticed a slip of paper sticking out of the soil of her flower box...

Just so you know, the story is told from the points of view of both Catherine and Ronald. You will see the name that specifies who it will be at the beginning of each chapter. Thank you!
