1: A wasteland. What happened here? It seems something went wrong, terribly wrong. Unless, was this meant to happen? Maybe they meant to do this. But, it seems unlikely.
2: "Meant to happen"? Ha! Do you see this place? There was no purposeful action that caused this- this catastrophe. At least, with the purpose of leaving this world a wasteland.
3: Do you think it was war? Humans do have the tendency to enact terrible deeds due to war.
1: Possibly, but it seems unlikely that they would knowingly do such a thing. It's most probable that they encountered a natural obstacle.
2: Maybe, or they just got sick of it and left.
3: Whatever they did, it did a number on this place.
