Piper Anne Kaiser never expected to go back to the small West Texas town of Marfa. But it's not the mysterious lights that driver her back, nor the sight of James Deans last film. A panicked phone call from her older brother Charlie leaves her confused as the line goes dead hours before her parolees start to eat each other alive.

As the virus spreads and wide spread panic starts to take over, she does the only thing that she can do and starts the 1,400 mile trek from Sacramento California to Marfa Texas. When she gets there she is shocked by what she finds.
Not only has the town being taken over by her brothers motorcycle gang but his best friend Liam has taken an oath to him to protect her and watch out for her. Suddenly confronted with that, her brothers passing, and her own past that still resides in the town, the dead things that she was running from on the road are starting to look pretty damn good.

Liam Townshed owes this young woman's brother, his brother. With the motorcycle club and the town that they have secured and protect, he could not fill his promise to take care of the girl, just her drunken father. Riddled by guilt from this, when she shows up he is determined to live up to his promise now that she is here as well as protect the town. She's had to see and do things because he and her brother weren't there for her, the way that they should have been.
Juggling this and the town's responsibilities, he hardly sees the turmoil that is brewing though it is hard to ignore and some unknown person starts to compromise the safety of the town and everything that they have worked for the past six months to secure.
