Malachai Evans, a tall striking senior with long golden blonde locks and emerald green irises, struggles with the truth of his sexuality as a rumor is spread, dreading the school year as it begins. His best friend, Theia assures him that everything will be okay, yet he isn't fully sure he wants to believe her. That is until he meets a special someone, that someone being Caspian Dion. This boy captivated Malachai with his black and red hair and gorgeous sky blue irises, lulling Malachai closer and closer. Malachai never expected to fall for a boy who was two years younger, let alone a boy at all.
As the school year goes by, Malachai realizes that this boy is not just any boy, not just a random student or transfer, not just a sophomore that he happens to fall for. In fact, Caspian is Malachai's old childhood friend, a friend he spent all his days with, never getting tired of the time they spent together, growing extremely close. When Cas has to leave the town they were in due to a new job offer his mother got, both Cas and Kai were quite torn by this decision, not getting much of a say in what happened.
The heartache that followed the ripping apart of the two was not easy to live with, as they had began to realize that they were soulmates. When Caspian moves back to his hometown, the two boys happen to grow closer than before, their bond growing stronger and stronger. Kai was unsure of what to do with his growing feelings for Cas since he had no idea how his best friend felt, but he also could not hold back much longer, as his feelings were brewing faster than his mind could process.
Is there the possibility that Caspian has mutual feelings for Malachai?

"So this is it then," Aaron Knowles spoke softly, "this is where it ends."
He didn't even respond. Instead Caleb Jefferson rushed towards him, wrapping his arms tightly around Aaron's middle. The month they had spent together had felt like a lifetime, and now it was being ripped away from them.
"I'm gonna miss you," Caleb whispered, his breath lingering on Aaron's neck.
Aaron nodded, his hand resting in Caleb's shaggy, blond hair. "Me too," he answered, his voice coming out just as soft.
"Thank you for a great summer," Caleb tried his hardest to smile, blinking away any tears that threatened to fall. And in that moment the world seemed to pause. Aaron took a step forward, placing a hand under Caleb's chin before moving in closer. Their lips connected for what should have been the final time.
