Many eyebrows were raised when NASA announced that the Pegasus would travel past Neptune into another solar system. An even greater controversy erupted when Carol Danvers was chosen to pilot the craft. Could a woman successfully pilot the first solo mission into deep space? Was she really up to the challenge?
