For this story, I was inspired by various Native American mythology and folklore that I have come across throughout the years. A common theme in such stories, as in any mythology, is providing explanations for why the natural world and the creatures in it are the way they are today. I tried to incorporate that within this story so that it might sound like a real Native American legend. I hope you all enjoy it and as always, comments and feedback are always welcome and highly encouraged!
