Harry Styles loves to sing. His parents hate it. It doesn't stop Harry from doing what he wants, but it definitely was a road block. 
On top of that, Harry's bisexual. His parents don't trust him around guys except Harry's lifelong best friend, Niall. 
Every year there is a competition held for high schoolers to compete to earn contracts with record labels. Harry's barely allowed to go, but he wants to try to prove to his parents that this is what he wants to do and he can do it.
Luke, his ex, is s factor. Luke still cares about Harry, and Harry cares about Luke, but he can't be with Luke, not after what his family did to Harry.
