Feeling him draw closer, I finally stood from the flower patch, turning towards the darkness. His eyes were all that I could see, and I watched them rise up, as if he were standing from a crouching position. He was transforming. He stepped into the light, his boots crunching down on the dried fallen leaves. "And I caught you once as well.
