"Now what? I whispered in her ears.

She pointed towards a long tree beside the house. I peered closer and realized there were small wooden steps on it.

"Do you often play bandit that you actually built your escape ladder?"

"Maybe, maybe not" she answered vaguely inching towards the edge. So like the sensible person I am, I immediately called dibs on being her assistant pirate.

Leah Avery Woods, just your usual doubtful teenager with the brightest smile, yet the cloudiest mind.

Though her misfortunes should've been overdue long ago, reality was quite the different. The struggle of carrying a haunting past and taunting memories only seemed to weigh her down.

When it seemed like she'd spent her whole life with friends who simply didn't care and a Dad who she barely spoke to, change came in the form of her very beautiful and oddly intimidating grandma; who asked a simple question which may have changed her whole life.

"Leah, want to go on a vacation?"

Thus the tale of a young girl began, who found answers in a place she never would've thought she would. Was her mother's home town where she would stay almost 2 months in, all what met the eye?

Or was there much more, that could change everything she knew and showing her that life could be so much more.

I fell for a boy with the kindest blue eyes, and a charming dimple. He made me feel loved, and cared for, and most importantly he made me feel safe in his presence. He came right in the middle of a tornadoe and managed to turn it into blue skies. He changed my perspective and gave me hope and strength." I looked at him, and he was smiling, and his eyes were a little glossy. He took my hand and kissed it, a small tear caught in the corner of his beautiful eyes. "I thought, hey, maybe life isn't so bad after all. Maybe I can finally allow myself to love and be loved, and to live life normally. When we went to your party, you told me to wait for you. But then your perverted cousin made me feel super uncomfortable, so I went looking for you, just to be able to feel at peace again. And that's when I saw it." My heart beats skyrocketed, because this was the moment everything changed forever. "Saw what?" Asked Axel. I took a deep breath, and continued. It's now or never. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Sophia Grace is a 25 year old Forensic Science major who recently started working as a cashier at her local grocery store - "The Corner Store". They weren't supposed to meet like this- on a swing, in a park, between coffee jitters and emotional damage. She wore a hoodie. He wore a smile that forgot things. And somewhere between the jokes, the near-death rescue, and the carved arrow... their story started telling itself again. Not everything was clear. Not every memory returned. But hearts? They tend to recognize each other- even when the brain hasn't caught up yet. And if an arrow appears- carved in wood, buried in stone- you follow it. Even if it leads straight back into the chaos.
