Morgana has finally been killed, Merlin Arthur, and all of the knights survive the battle,(except Lancelot and Elyon because they die earlier in the series.), the two friends get swept up in celebrating in Arthur's room and end up spilling some important secrets, not entirely by choice.

Merlin had long since given up that Arthur would return. He had moved on with his life, and was currently a detective in London. It was the year 2021, and Merlin was doing fine. He had friends. A best friend even, Iris, who was also his partner. He still missed Arthur, but he was no longer waiting for the prat's return.
