I laughed because I expected it to be a poor joke, but it wasn't. Reality set in faster. 3 a.m., and I couldn't sleep. Every memory I had with you played like a tape, the good and the bad. I just wanted to feel as if someone like you exists. You were the only one who cared enough to talk to me. The only one kind enough to try to get me to say more than two words. The only one who cared enough to keep me around, I know that by the time I give you this, you won't know where I am until the end. It had been an hour since I had gotten the call that changed my life. It still hadn't hit completely hit me yet, probably because it was only 3 a.m. I wasn't crying like everyone was expecting me to be doing. I was just staring out of the window, watching the cars passing as we drove to the hospitial. "Where are we?" my six year old sister asked, finally waking up. "We're driving to the hospitial. You need to go back to sleep, Elizabeth," my dad told her. "Why are we going to the hospitial?" she asked. "Shawn was in a wreck," my mom said simply. "Arden's boyfriend Shawn?" she asked. "Yes," mom said. As the conversation between Elizabeth and my parents went on my breathing got faster and so did my heart.
