Ava Clarke. The cliche "Good girl". She loves to read, gets good grades and only has one real friend. She's been attending Pensville High School since 9th grade, when she moved to Long Island, New York. Before all this, Ava's life was situated in Manchester, England where she lived with her mom. So really, not much has changed. Most of her teenage years have been spent in one place and one place only, the school library. So when she has an encounter with a somewhat rude, cold, fellow teen on a usual breezy, autumn's day who she's only seen around school a number of times, Ava is left confused. Jake Peterson. Not so much the cliche "Bad boy". The only thing that could categorize him with "Bad boy" is the fact he wears mostly dark clothes and occasionally smoke a cigarette. Only when he's stressed though, as if that's a valid excuse. He also loves to read, has mostly good grades and doesn't have any friends. Since he was a junior in school, Jake has been labeled a loner. Spending a lot of his time in the school's library has never been a problem with him until he bumps into a short, almost chubby girl that he's never laid eyes on before, leaving Jake inexplicably annoyed.
