The town of Wellington remembers two events, the shooting and the fire, both of which Laura Smyth had been present for.
Laura wasn't happy when she had to quit school to help her grandfather on the farm after he hurt his back but she was even more upset about having to spend her summer in Wellington. With less than two hundred people habituating it, it really came to no surprise that she would meet everyone in town. Some wonderful, and some unable to fit into the category of wonderful. Todd and Reese Willocks fit into the wonderful category and it didn't matter which one she would have met first or when she met them, she would have found herself in the same circumstances, and left with a summer she would never be able to forget.

Catherine was about to say something, but the office door flew open. I let out a breath of relief. Grabbing Daphne's arm, I led us towards the opened door. I pushed her in, and was about to follow, when Mathew caught my eye. He was watching me, his grey eyes locked with my green ones, until I hastily broke the contact and disappeared into the office. ★★★ Tessa Parker is starting her junior year in high school, desperate to keep her head down and pass through the year unnoticed like she usually does. But not this time. On the first day back, she unintentionally brews up more tension between herself and her childhood enemy, Catherine Jameson. The cause of the tension? Aaron and Mathew. Fresh off her first year at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Emilia Casey is simultaneously happy to be back in her sleepy beachside town for the summer while also missing her life and friends at college. Located on the other side of the country from UCSB, the last thing Emilia expects to see in her mostly unknown corner of the world is her college friends. And yet, that's exactly what happens when Damian Farago, the most beautiful friend she has, shows up on vacation with his family. After a startling meeting, Damian ropes Emilia into being his tour guide for the rest of his time in her charming town. As the pair explores every corner the town has to offer, Emilia finds a crush left over from the school year turning into maybe something more. In this feel-good, summer short story, attractions are strong and smiles can be found all around as two young adults realize that all this time the other had been paying attention. excerpt: ""Okay, okay!" Damian's laughter was warm as he took the cracker, the smile forming on his face one of the kind that made the world unbelievably bright despite the dark sky above them. Emilia couldn't help but smile in return, warmth flooding her chest at the sight of his crinkling eyes. He was just so beautiful. She didn't know how many times she'd thought it since first meeting him last winter, but she was sure, as her eyes lingered for a long time on every angle and curve of his face, that she would never stop thinking it. That she would never think it too much because it was so absolutely true. The way the moon caught on the few gold strands strewn throughout his brown hair, the curve of his lips in his smile, the sparkle of the stars reflected in his eyes. She wanted to memorize him, to recall every freckle and eyelash, to never forget the way he blinked-softly-or the way he breathed-steadily." **WARNING: -considerable swearing -TW: brief discussion of depression in Chapter 4, bipolar disorder in Chapter 5

Summerview is your average, quiet town, where everyone knows everyone and that's the way it's always been. It's the kind of town where the local coffee shop is where all the high school students go for study sessions and the park is where the Mother's Day picnic is held each year. The residents of the town are content just to chat with each other and hope nothing out of the ordinary occurs. When Devon Henderson, a handsome boy with hypnotic brown eyes and cold, pale skin moves to town, everything changes. After his arrival, people start to disappear, sending the town into a complete frenzy. Rules are suddenly made by the police and a curfew is placed over the entire town. The only person who isn't completely terrified is Caitlin Saunders, the mayor's sixteen-year-old daughter who has an adventurous streak, a tendency to get into trouble, and an incredibly hard time listening to the rules. Determined to find out what happened to the town, Caitlin finds herself tangled up with Devon's past. Sometimes love can be fatal. This book is 100% original and all of the characters, as well as Summerview, are completely fictional. Any resemblance to real people, dead or alive is completely accidental.
