The Garrets are safe for now, tucked away on their family farm hid deep in the Appalachia's. Shad realizes this is a false reality, one that may crumble any day now. Cavern City, only a few miles south is now considered a bustling town and safe haven for the human population, as long as Damon Brody can keep paying the tithes to the Syrrvadians.
This is a Earth set in the not too distant future where humans are now the mediocre and not the superior breed. Amaranth, a new world government looks to thin the population with less than desirable humans and spread the trans-human movement. Syrrvados is a new religion that demands the utmost loyalty and has found Christianity illegal. Gladiator pits, Slavers, Hybrids, and Cyborgs litter the country side reeking havoc among the common humans. All energy sources have been exhausted or collected by the Amaranth. Those humans that have not been micro-chipped are considered rebels and have a treacherous road ahead of them indeed
I am writing this episodic adventure as I go with a large plot line already developed. I will publish chapter by chapter as I finish them. These are usually first drafts and all input is appreciated. I will be writing in third person limited and through many, many view points. This is what I hope to be a very expansive world with new discoveries around every corner.

The Adventures of Morley and Boots: The crew of the Leapfrog travel randomly about the galaxy in search of unique lifeforms to trap & trade. Intra-galactic poaching is profitable, but risky - like when an Evil Intergalactic Empire accuses you of capturing their Goddess, and you don't even know which critter she is! End Game: In an alternate near-future Indochina, Imperial France still rules, much to the chagrin of the local Siamese. Ratana's brother is captain of a premiere league football team, and a hero to the Siamese - and when he is booted from the squad to make space for the son of a powerful nobleman, it sets off a chain of events that could result in the toppling of the Empire. Self-Assembly Required: Human civilization has been almost entirely destroyed by a catastrophic plague of nanites, but one city remains, hidden and protected by Hydra, a team of all-female nano/human hybrids. Is the arrival of a roguish, lone-wolf mercenary a sign that human civilization is recovering, or the event that could destroy the few remaining survivors? The Woman from Mars: The robotic crew of the Basilisk thought humans were gone, long gone. But when they are sucked back in space and time to Jupiter's moon Europa in 2552, they discover a Viking civilization with the technology to rebuild human civilization - assuming the woman from Mars can complete her mission. Blasted Futures is a short story collection. All of these works have been written for The Pub's SciFi Smackdown, a contest in which contestants write Science Fiction stories meeting the specifications laid out by the smackdown's host, @ForbiddenPlanet. 100 years ago, amidst WW3's nuclear bombing, a deadly virus was released in the atmosphere and nearly wiping out the humanity. It lives inside the human brain thriving on the empathy receptors, leading to irrational behaviour and ultimately brain death. To slow the damage, scientists created L.O.V.E, short for Living Off Vital Emotions, a nanovaccine that numbs the virus and switches off all strong emotions. As a last resort and with a dying planet, the Supreme Government created the City, a place to contain the infected survivors suitable for the experiment. Those in the first stages of illness became ideal candidates to receive the neuroinhibitor. Having their feelings restrained and their memory altered, those who come of age are designated a life partner through a Selection process, thus preserving the humankind. A few decades after the trial had started, scientists had a major breakthrough. The nanites, which are highly chemically reactive organisms, are changing their bio-engineered purpose when dopamine levels are high. With a new generation of nanoids, stronger and smarter to fight the battle, the virus doesn't have a chance. Many attempts were made to create a man-made version of synthetic dopamine and each time the outcome was a disaster. Their goal is to create new generations, immune to the virus. These are called Purebloods, the offsprings of those who find pure love, the only cure to save them from a violent death. Running out of time, the Experiment entered in its final stages. To minimize the threats, the Colonies have sent their best soldiers to oversee the trial and protect its key subjects. If only things were going according to plan, or better...stay hidden. With Iron Guard, the resistance outside the walls, hunting the Purebloods too, will the trial save human race before it's too late? #3 in #dystopianfuture (27.06.2020)

Helpful reminders as you read: (subject to change & be updated w/the release of chapters) Main characters: 1. Charlie (woman) - She has light features, recessive genes. She is a mistake in the genetic pool, yet b/c of her lineage she has all of the rulings of an aristocrat. 2. Aero (man) - Dark features, thick eyebrows. Colonel and Charlie's fiance. 3. Rhys (man) - Charlie's best friend. 4. Senator Holm (man) - One of many senators that work directly with President Malcolm Bouchard. 5. 273 (man) - Peat. Dark features. Chocolate brown curls. Marked by light physical features and high spirits! * Aristocrat - an upper class individual. Marked by dark physical features and perfect skin. *Peat - an individual that has both plebeian and aristocratic blood, usually from rape. Sybaran is the continent; Nephraim (home village) , Salem (stricter division, where Aero was born), Mieich, and Shankrai, are the 4 subdivisions (countries) of Sybaran that we have so far.

You are Dr. Brent Phillips, scientist extraordinaire, and have explored all the frontiers on Earth. There's only one place you haven't been... the very center of our planet. Until now. What will you encounter on your way down? Extinct species? Impossible cosmic phenomena? Lost civilizations? There's only one way to find out... **Based on an ADRIFT text-based game that I wrote in my nonexistent spare time as an internist-in-training a LONG long time ago. **Don't expect anything to follow the laws of nature. The "explanations" are all techno-babble ala Star Trek. The premise is patently absurd, anyway! Just abandon logic for now and set your imagination free! **This is an ongoing adventure. I'll try to update it at least once a week.
