Sierra Rivera needs to be an engineer.

Her father was a mechanic, and her grandfather was a mechanic, great-grandfather was on and so on. But she wanted to take it a step further. There was no purpose of taking a car apart and putting it back together if you couldn't improve it.
A love for cars was not the only thing that ran through the family; hot tempers and lack of money was the trend. But Sierra knew that step by step, she would be different. If only she could convince her mother of that, who wants her in the kitchen with a dinner plate.
But after high school graduation, she was an adult, and her family could not keep her from setting out into the world, but not for the lack of trying.
Leaving New Mexico for Texas Tech University, was not as far as she wanted from her mother, but it would do. If it were not for her father's friend, she would not be stepping foot out of the taxi cab. She would have to make do with everything; including the co-ed dorms...

Rose Johnson hasn't been close with her family in the last ten years while she's dedicated her life to her own contractor business, mostly catering to those wanting to either flip their houses for profit, or those who simply desire a change in their environments. She loves her work. She loves her employees who are basically family to her. She loves her father...despite their differences. Correction, she loved her father and with the reading of his will, things in her usually calming world have turned upside down, forcing her into finding legal representation. Maya Joshi has just returned from visiting her uncle and his family in Luchang, India, having needed a break in his family operated ski resort and hot springs, and she already has a full case load. The first to pass her desk comes from her aunt-in-law set to retire in the next two months and carries quite a bit of weight. Scheming to deal with the civil litigation out of court, she meets with her new client and is surprised by her immediate attraction. However, given her recent tract record for dating and her constant need for the steady pace professionalism brings to her life, she swears to never act on it. Life may have other plans for both Rose and Maya. The question stands; Are they ready for what life will throw at them next? She was told to stay small. Teaching, marrying, and having children were "safe", and engineering was "for men" and "too tough for her". But she wanted oil & gas, steel and systems, wires, and control rooms. Her relatives called her naïve, too soft, and a dreamer who didn't belong. When the rejections piled up, she almost believed them. Almost. Then came the job. Messy. Brutal. Unforgiving. A workplace where sexism was as common as coffee breaks. She fought, stumbled, learned to sharpen her tongue and armor her spirit. And right when the chaos threatened to drown her, he appeared. Not a savior, not a fairytale prince. But a maddeningly attractive, razor-sharp ally whose very brilliance felt like a threat. He was strategic, infuriatingly calm where she burned, always one step ahead. His presence forced her to sharpen her own claws, to outmaneuver, and to rise higher. They clashed. They competed. They pushed each other to the brink... Until rivalry blurred into banter, and banter into something neither of them could ignore. A story of ambition, sabotage, love, and the messy, beautiful alchemy of becoming unstoppable.
