Resident asshole and homicide detective Gavin Reed gets a new partner: the android RK900. Gavin is not particularly thrilled to be working with an android. They're too perfect to be human. However, his captain leaves him no choice. Slowly the two learn to work together, building towards something that could be called friendship and who knows what else?
