Ben Tracey and Liesa Rhodes stood there in silence staring into the abyss of color. Instinctually, Liesa grabbed the nearest object and skillfully threw it in. The small lamp spun as it flew into the air, slowly losing its red color and disintegrating into the atmospheric whirlpool.
"Cool!" Liesa excitedly whispered to herself.
"This is not cool. THIS IS CATASTROPHIC!" Ben shouted, nervously running his hand through his hair.
"Calm down, Ben, if anything happens, we can just use your powers to fix it." Liesa said trying to reassure herself and her friend. Ben however, was not convinced.
"Liesa," he spoke, shaking his head, "That's not how it works."
"Do you know how it works?"
"No, I don't know how it works. I just don't think that's how it works!"
"Well, we opened a fucking portal for Christ's sake! Did you think we could do that?!"
"No."
"Then stop worrying! We'll be fine..."
"But what if-"
"No! No 'buts' don't jinx it! I don't want you doing anything else. I've had enough crazy shit for the day."
