Selena never let anyone too near. Never let them close enough to possibly hurt her. Her father died when she was young, and after her mother died many years later when she turned thirteen, that was when she broke. She broke and put up walls and shut out her heart from the world. The violin is a beautiful melody spelling a connection to her parents that can never make her feel closer with anything else.

Rhys struggles with his harmful father-in-law, and his mother has succumbed to him herself. He struggles to keep himself and his twin sister safe. The cello is something he confides in, something he uses as an escape, a sonata's notes blending into a distracting rhythm and hum in his ears to let him breathe.

So when Selena climbs her way to concertmaster during the first week of freshman year and Rhys is placed as the first chair cellist, the two get to know each other well, when said as an understatement.

They both heal their wounds and learn together. They learn how to love. And the bond they share becomes more beautiful than what any sound any orchestra could ever create.

***COMPLETE*** Series coming down Nov 1st He asked me to tell him why I loved the cello and I told him but I wasn't expecting his response. "The way you describe it is so beautiful. Reminds me of what it feels like when you're really making love to someone." "Uh no. It's nothing like that," I said. "Oh I think it is. Perhaps you've never really had someone make love to you. It's euphoria and relaxation all at once if it's being done right. All those touches," he brushed his fingers against my neck and I shivered. "All the arousal," he stepped closer and dropped his head next to mine, his hot breath hitting my skin. "All the kisses in all the right places," he murmured, his lips brushing against my ear. "You can't tell me the feeling of someone filling you up and caressing your body slowly, over all the curves, all the peaks, into all the crevices while they move in and out of you, with you, making your own music with all the moans and whimpers." Emery Barner is in a long-time relationship with her highschool boyfriend, but things aren't going exactly great between them. She's struggling to support them both and trying to go to school for music, working several jobs at once. One of those job is to do what she loves: play the cello. She plays at a fancy, romantic restaurant where most people walk right by without appreciating the heart she puts into her playing, until one night when she's approached by two businessmen, one of which catches her attention more than he should. Milo Sanders, a billionaire businessman on the spectrum, is scrambling to find a replacement musician for his upcoming charity event after the one he had lined up was stolen away. Milo is stewing in anger over dinner at the loss of a popular musician, he discovers a cellist playing at the very restaurant he's in. He never intended to want anything from her except her musical talent but the more time he spends with her, the more he finds himself wanting much more from her.
DAYLIGHT - A Tayvis-inspired love story by sasi-tv-99
62 parts Ongoing Mature
In a billionaire superstar's world, where genuine connections must be untangled from the brightness of spotlights and the shadows of fame, Taylor's heart was guarded stronger than ever, yet brimming with light and kindness, but also quiet sadness -like a summer meadow under a sky full of stars, like midnight rain drenching the earth. Meanwhile, Travis' heart was open and steady - like a quiet ocean of warmth, unshaken by storms, like sunshine reflecting on a clear, blue ocean. It was the kind of love she hadn't dared to trust, until now. Their first connection - a bold, slightly silly gesture involving a friendship bracelet with his phone number woven into the beads - was sweeter than fiction, charming and just a little awkward. Though it never reached her that night, his attempt to get her attention marked the start of something extraordinary, neither of them would have expected. Like ever. Fate's invisible strings pulled them closer, unraveling the barriers between their worlds. Love bloomed softly at first, like the golden rays of dawn peeking through the night, until it shone with the golden promise of something lasting - like daylight -, and suddenly everything had changed. But the road to daylight wasn't without its shadows. Fame, fear, and the weight of two very different worlds stood between them. Yet with every step, love found its way, glowing brighter than they'd ever dreamed. But in a world of spotlighted chaos and hidden fears, will this love be enough to light up their way? ***** WARNING: My stories are cheesy, dramatic, and made out of romance. I love exploring how people get to know each other and fall in love (and this will take a while!), I adore the shipping, the journey to connection, and the way characters interact, including all the nuances of their relationships and the smut - everything about it! If that's not your cup of tea, then "DAYLIGHT" might not be for you.
Unpredictably Yours by wa02guy
1 part Ongoing Mature
Predictable. For most, it's a word with negative connotations, a synonym for 'boring'. But predictability is what keeps orchestral violist Randall Lipsky grounded in a chaotic world. From eating the same breakfast every morning to always arriving early for orchestra rehearsal, routine and habit are what he's all about. So it's no surprise that finding love isn't on Randall's to-do list; why bring the unpredictability of romance into his comfortable, orderly life? After all, his parents' miserable marriage has shown him that love is anything but safe. Enter cellist Colette Zhang. She's new to the orchestra, and she's bold, confident, and decidedly unpredictable! She's also exactly what Randall's NOT looking for. So why can't he get her out of his head? And if that's not enough, circumstances beyond their control keep bringing them together. As Randall and Colette develop an unlikely friendship, they find they have more in common than they thought, including a mutual attraction that's getting harder to deny. But before he can take the leap into that gloriously unpredictable thing called love, he'll have to face the hardest question of all: Is he willing to let go of the safety he's always known to embrace the unknown? And what's he willing to risk to keep the love he never saw coming? [NOTE: This is my current work-in-progress. Yes, even after six years, I'm still working on it, because I really want to tell Randall and Colette's story! A lot has gone on in the intervening years (and some big changes have happened), but they're never far from my mind. The outline is completely finished, all that remains is actually writing, which is finally progressing, even if the pace is glacial. 500 words is a GREAT day for me. 🤣 I'm bound and determined to see this story through to completion. Everything in due time. 😊]

Her Conscience

27 parts Complete Mature

Star is a different type of girl. Ever since she got detached from her divorced, emotionally unavailable parents, she's been filling up her quiet, lonely world with music and dancing. She's practically a musical prodigy at 16 and music can't possibly be taken away from her. The only people she's ever been really close to are her psycho, over enthusiastic bff's. They're the only people she can tolerate anyway. That's until one fateful day when she meets a cocky, narcissistic, though really cute guy at her favourite fro yo shop who gets under her skin for just being himself. She absolutely detests guys like him. Absolutely gorgeous, frustratingly charming, cocky as hell and shockingly talented at music. That's right. Star discovers that this seemingly unbearable guy loves music almost as much as she does and just that single fact makes her heart soften a little so she lets her guard down for just a tiny bit. But after that one moment that she decides to let it down, she realises that she can't get it back up again. She discovers she can actually feel things and once she acknowledges this, her whole world is completely changed from the quiet, peaceful, drama free life she has always been used to into a series of drama, heartbreak, tears, broken trusts and friendships. |Featured X1| @romance(high school romance)
