Xander Kyle is just your average fifteen year old boy. Kind of. He listens to music, but not the music everyone else does. He doesn't play sports or video games, he draws and writes music. He's gay. But not the 'in the closet, afraid' kind of gay, he's open. Everyone knows and hates him for it... 
Except for the in the closet football star, Vance Knight, who happens to be one of Xander's least favorite people. 
Vance wants to be there for Xander, especially when he finds out just how alone he really is. But only behind closed doors, so no one knows. Because typically, football players and emo boys don't get together. And they especially don't at a school like Fort Lichen High, where only guys can date girls, and girls can date guys.... 
So how the hell can they pull it off? They can't.
Because Love is four letters, and so is another word...
