Shale Ankha awakens in the early morning of his 16th birthday, full of doubt about the day ahead. The other clan members who have summoned their guardians have felt a sort of connection to their counterparts long before this day and yet, Shale felt nothing. This can't be right surely? Something has to be wrong, maybe he wasn't truly a part of this clan?
