James Kirk my brother wants my powers kept secret in the Academy, and yet I don't think I can. Then when I meet my favorite character I crush on in my world Spock, and he's such a pain towards me, because I'm a sarcastic, witty, and a cursaholic, earning me the nickname Motor Mouth by my older brother, and I'm 29. The name Motor Mouth is a teasing nickname my brother uses to me, or being sarcastic to me, yet I take the title. Soon I would find out the emotionless Spock would find in the future my sick sense of humor, my witty personality, and yet sarcastic, and cursaholic mouth amusing, only he tells me so in secret.

So, if your soulmate is not a human, then they can not see the string. Jim's soulmate is Spock. Who despite being half human, can not see the string. Jim is not surprised.
