Holly needs a job. And some cash.

That's how she ends up at Cafe by the Sea, hired by the assistant manager, Oliver, who's cute, annoying, and totally unattainable. She's not really looking to fall in love though - it's just that Oliver is a really nice distraction. And she also kind of can't - overprotective parents. She's technically not allowed to date until she's in college. And she's okay with that - Holly has friends, a good family, decent grades, an okay body (it could always be better though), and life is pretty smooth for her.

But smooth isn't always best, as she discovers. Over the course of summer, Holly learns that there's a lot more to love than passionate kisses, you don't need a bikini to look good and feel good in the summer, and that the truth really does set you free. You just have to discover it.

The Dairy Queen

40 parts Complete Mature

Love in an ice cream shop? Violet Davis thinks the summer after her senior year in high school will be one of the best in her young teenage life, until her mom tells her to get a summer job. Spending all those hot summer nights at the local dairy bar, scooping ice cream for sticky, sweaty toddlers and grandparents is not her idea of a good time-that is until she falls for the bad boy co-worker, the one everyone tells her to stay away from. Let's just say the ice cream in the walk-in freezer isn't the only thing that will need to cool down, especially when we add a boy from high school to the mix; sweet, cute, with a big....heart. Violet's love life becomes just like her favorite soft-serve...twisted. ** This book is rated Mature! If you blush easily, you have been warned. Also, I swear like a sailor...my characters do too. ** ** I like to incorporate music with my chapters, I will often note where I think you should begin a song, this is just a suggestion :) The YouTube video for the music is posted at the top of each chapter. There is also a Spotify Playlist: https://tinyurl.com/4ujb3fd2 ** **All locations in this book, except for the ice cream shop and the work places of other characters are real places. I have taken some liberties with the hours of these businesses, but they are all brick and mortar places that can be visited.**
