Adelaide Blake hears voices in her head. Sometimes they're so clear that she swears they're right behind her, sometimes she can barely hear them, but they're always there and nothing ever drowns them out.

One of the most common things they talk about are people who, when Addie is honest with herself, sound like action heroes. They can do things Addie never imagined.

Though for all she knows everything could just be her own insane brain's creations.

That all changes when a new family moves to Adelaide's small town, the two children exactly matching two of the most prevalent characters in the voices' ramblings, down to the way they part their hair.
