Khayr is a 16-year-old orphan and an apprentice to his village's only Apothekerin. He spends his days reading, riding, and wasting sunlight. Despite Khayr's unhelpful and apparent laziness, the Apothecary has been getting much more business lately, what with the unprecedented number of dead bodies piling up. Khayr chooses, instead, to attribute the overflow of patients to the draw his world-famous stew has on the local elderly. 
When Khayr runs into the kingdom's resident banished princess, he is drawn into a deadly political feud that involves more than just the royal family. When personalities clash but priorities align, you get a partnership of epic proportions. A story full of friendship, betrayal, sword fighting, and good food, Reaper's Row will drag you along on an adventure that literally no one wanted to go on.
