After the battle with All for One and the abduction of Katsuki Bakugo, U.A. decided it was time to strengthen their relationship with foreign schools. Right away Principal Nezu sends word out to different Hero Schools around the world with letters of recommendation for certain student to come and study at U.A.
Luana Kawai is a student at Nākoa Academy in Honolulu, Hawaii in the U.S. who's training to become a Pro-Hero. With her magma quirk she quickly gains the title of number one of the first years and is said she could be one of the next top heroes in Hawaii. It's because of her talent that Principal Nezu chose her as one of the young foreign upcoming heroes to come and study at U.A.
Upon her arrival, she and the other foreign exchange students, are introduced to the entire school. To everyone's astonishment she's assigned to class 1-A student, Katsuki Bakugo. With two considered natural genius, it seems like a perfect matchup to get the two to challenge each other, there's just one thing, Luana is one step ahead of Bakugo. She knows what it's like to be number one, while Bakugo is still trying to climb to the top. The chance for the hall of fame is just within reach.
